Step-by-Step: How to Make the Celebrity Style Video

Step 1: Update Alight Motion

Open the Play Store or App Store and check for an update. A project made in a newer version may not open in an older one, and 3D projects often use newer tools, so updating first is especially important.

Step 2: Open the project

Tap the project link given at the end of this post and confirm the import when Alight Motion asks. After a few seconds, the project appears on the home screen of the app. If the link opens in your browser, use the option there to open it in the app.

Step 3: Watch the preview

Play the video once without changing anything. Notice where the spotlight appears, where the flashes happen, how the frames rotate and when the name lands. If the preview is choppy, lower the preview quality in the app settings.

Step 4: Replace the main photo

Tap the main photo layer in the timeline and choose the option to replace the media. Select your best photo of the birthday person. This photo gets the spotlight, so choose carefully. Menu names can look slightly different between app versions, but the idea is the same.

Step 5: Replace the smaller photos

Step 8: Adjust the colors and the light

If the project has color layers, make small changes. Gold, deep red, black and royal blue give the premium look. Keep the text color clearly different from the background, so the name is easy to read. If the spotlight is too bright, lower its strength a little, so the face still shows details.

Step 9: Add the music and match the flashes

Tap the plus icon, choose Audio and select your track. Trim it so the build-up plays during the dark opening and the strongest beat lands on the star reveal. If the project already has an audio layer, replace it so two tracks do not play together. Then play the video slowly and watch where the flashes happen. Each flash should land on a beat. If one feels early or late, drag its layer by a few frames. Work from the beginning, one flash at a time.

Step 10: Check and export

Watch the whole video with headphones. Check the name, the faces, the flashes and the ending. When everything looks right, tap the share icon and export the video using the settings below.

Tips for a Better Star Effect

  • Do not use more flashes than the music can support. A few well-timed flashes look better than constant white screens.
  • Give the name at least two seconds on the screen, so everyone can read it.

A Safety Note About Flashes

Fast white flashes can bother some people, especially those who are sensitive to flashing lights. Keep the flashes short, avoid very rapid strobing and think about adding a short warning if you plan to post the video publicly.

  • Resolution: 1080p for the best quality. Use 720p if your phone is slow or gets hot.

The project does not open. Update Alight Motion, check your internet and try the link again or in a different browser.

The preview is slow or choppy. Lower the preview quality, close other apps and free up storage.

A face is cut off while the frame rotates. Reduce the scale of the photo or move it, so the face stays inside the frame.

The name looks flat. Check that the shadow and the highlight layers are visible and that every layer in the text stack has the same name.
